Engine Casting Facility & Technology Centre, Warndon
The initial phase of this project saw such diverse operations as the formation of purpose built ponds and habitats to house a colony of greater crested newts which inhabited the site, as well as the construction of a state of the art engine block casting facility, utilising the latest technology imported from the US. The main building structure, although relatively simple, houses a complex, highly serviced production facility for producing high quality alloy based engine blocks for the world automotive industry. Subsequent phases saw the development of a specialist machining facility and a further 4,000m2 of production facilities as well as feasibility studies into a cutting edge research and development facility to incorporate a new corporate headquarters for the UK operation.
